Fo meets you where you are
Close to an hour a weekOf phone time Fo takes off the people who use it most.
$250+ savedBy the people who save the most with Fo, over 3 months: refunds, credits and waived fees.
Calls to customer support lines take about 10 minutes. Fo waits on hold so you don't.
Everything Fo handles for your subscriptions
Cancel before it renews
Fo finds the renewal date, cancels before you're charged again and saves the confirmation.
“Cancel my gym membership before it renews on the 1st.”
Find what you're paying for
With access to your inbox, Fo goes through your billing emails and lists each subscription, its price and renewal date.
“Go through my email and list every subscription I'm paying for.”
Handle the cancel call
When a company only cancels by phone, Fo calls, waits on hold and turns down the offers you don't want.
“They say I have to call to cancel. Call them and cancel, whatever they offer.”
Catch free trials
Fo reminds you before a free trial turns into a paid plan, or cancels it for you.
“I just started a 7-day trial. Cancel it before I'm charged unless I say otherwise.”
Ask for a refund
If you were charged after cancelling, Fo asks the company for the money back and follows up.
“They charged me after I cancelled. Get that charge refunded.”
Downgrade or pause
Fo checks for a cheaper plan or a pause option when you want to keep the service but pay less.
“See if I can pause my meal kit for two months instead of cancelling.”
How to cancel a subscription
Cancelling is easiest when you know who bills you and when it renews. Most subscriptions cancel online, but some make you call or chat.
- Find out who bills you. Check your card statement: an app subscription may be billed by Apple or Google, not the company itself.
- If Apple bills you, cancel on your iPhone in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. For Google Play, cancel under Subscriptions in the Play Store.
- Otherwise, cancel in your account settings on the company's site. If there's no button, use its chat or phone line and turn down offers you don't want.
- Deleting an app usually doesn't stop billing. Wait until you see a cancellation confirmation, and for an Apple free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Save the confirmation and check your next statement. If you're charged again, contact the company with the confirmation in hand.
Questions people ask
Does Fo need my login?
To cancel online, usually yes, and Fo asks before using it. For a phone cancellation it needs the details the company asks for, like your account email. If the company insists on verifying you personally, Fo tells you.
What if the company won't let me cancel?
Fo keeps at it by phone, chat or email, asks for written confirmation and keeps a record of every attempt. The company processes the cancellation; Fo makes sure it's asked properly and doesn't go quiet.
Will Fo accept an offer to stay?
Only if you tell it to. Fo turns down retention offers by default, or brings them to you if you'd like to hear them. It never agrees to a new charge without your approval.
