Everything Fo handles for your visa

  • Watch for an earlier slot

Fo checks for earlier interview slots and alerts you the moment one opens, so you can grab it.

“Watch for an earlier visa interview slot at the consulate and tell me as soon as one opens.”

  • Compare posted wait times

Fo checks the posted wait times at the consulates you can apply at and shows you the options.

“Which consulates in my country have the shortest wait for a visitor visa interview?”

  • List what to bring

Fo reads the consulate's own instructions and sends you a checklist for interview day.

“What do I need to bring to my visa interview next month?”

  • Book the visa photo

Fo finds a nearby place that takes visa photos to the right spec and books it.

“Find somewhere near me that does US visa photos this week.”

  • Plan around the interview

Fo adds the interview to your calendar, reminds you the day before and sorts travel to the consulate.

“Put my visa interview on my calendar and find me a hotel near the consulate.”

How to schedule a US visa interview

For most US visitor, student and work visas, you fill in the online application, pay the fee, then book an interview at a US embassy or consulate. Steps vary by country.

  1. Complete the DS-160 online application and save the confirmation page with its barcode.
  2. Pay the visa application fee the way your embassy or consulate's site describes. The fee is non-refundable.
  3. Create an account on the booking system your embassy or consulate uses and book the first interview you can.
  4. Plan to interview in your country of nationality or residence. The State Department says applying elsewhere can make it harder to qualify.
  5. Check the posted wait times on travel.state.gov. They are estimates and change week to week.
  6. Ask about an expedited appointment only if you have an urgent reason, after you've booked a regular one.

Questions people ask

Can Fo book the slot for me?

Some consulates' booking systems need your own booking account. Fo uses it only with your permission, watches for openings and alerts you right away so you can book. Where the system needs you to confirm, you do.

Can Fo help with my visa case?

No. Fo handles the logistics: slots, checklists, photos and travel. It isn't a lawyer, and the consular officer decides the visa. For questions about your case, talk to an immigration attorney.

Will Fo pay fees without asking?

No. Any fee, from a visa photo to a hotel, is shown to you first, and Fo pays only what you approve.

It doesn't just answer. It takes action.
