Everything Fo handles for your prescriptions
Request the refill
Fo calls your pharmacy, or uses its website with your login if you allow it, to request the refill, then tells you when it's ready.
“Refill my blood pressure meds at the pharmacy on Main St and tell me when to pick them up.”
Ask for a new prescription
Out of refills? Fo contacts your doctor's office to ask for a renewal to be sent to your pharmacy.
“I'm out of refills on my allergy medicine. Ask my doctor's office to renew it.”
Chase a delayed refill
Fo calls the pharmacy to find out what's holding it up, like insurance or an out-of-stock item, and follows up.
“My refill was supposed to be ready yesterday. Find out what's going on.”
Find it in stock
If your pharmacy is out, Fo calls nearby pharmacies to find one that has it.
“My pharmacy is out of my medication. Call around and find one that has it.”
Move to a new pharmacy
Fo has the new pharmacy transfer what can move, tells you which need a new prescription, and confirms they arrived.
“Move my prescriptions to the pharmacy near my new place.”
Refill reminders
Fo keeps track of when each refill is due and reminds you, or requests it for you.
“Remind me a week before I run out of my thyroid medication each month.”
How to refill a prescription
Most refills take a few minutes to request but a day or two to be ready. Asking early leaves time to sort out insurance or a renewal.
- Find the prescription number and pharmacy phone number on your medicine's label.
- Request the refill through the pharmacy's app, website or automated phone line, a few days before you run out.
- If the label shows no refills left, contact your doctor's office to ask for a new prescription to be sent to the pharmacy.
- Some medicines, including many controlled substances, have tighter refill limits or need a new prescription each time. Your pharmacist can tell you.
- Check with the pharmacy that it's ready, and what you'll pay, before you go to pick it up.

Will the pharmacy talk to Fo?
Often, for routine refill requests. Pharmacies may require the patient to verify identity or speak to the pharmacist directly; when they do, Fo tells you what's needed. Questions about your medication are for your pharmacist.
